The Coffee Table

Thinking about buying this Living Room, Christmas décor and all?  Think again.  There's something discomforting about this room, as beautiful and cozy and festive as it is.  Everything seems to flow, the colors blend nicely.  The pops of red are not too overdone.  But... I'm not so sure this is the right coffee table for the space... I note that my discomfort stems from the fact that the coffee table sticks out too far past the couch, much like a leg out of place after a fall, I'd say.

A round Ottoman would perhaps be more suitable.

Worn Silk, Glass, and Wallpaper

Really?   The table would be so far away?  Aren't tables like this wrought iron with glass top one, while absolutely gorgeous, supposed to be behind a floating couch or against a wall in say an entry foyer?  I'm thinking this room is NOT meant to be enjoyed.  And yet here it is, and shared by many on Tumblr, and most certainly on other photo sharing sites and blogs alike.  I suppose people are drawn to the colours, textures, and styles represented in this snap, with no care for  form and overall photographic composition (including myself at one point in time). In fact it looks as though part of the photograph is missing, cut off, incomplete. It's much akin to buying a dress and wearing it with the very wrong pair of shoes and forgetting to brush ones hair before going to a party where no one mingles, just stands there with sore feet.
